Not My Daughter by Barbara Delinsky

Lily and her friends decide as a pact to get pregnant. None of them feel that their behavior will affect anyone else especially their parents. Their logic is they are seventeen and they can be better mothers than some of the woman they had seen in town. Each girl happily goes to tell their mothers that they are pregnant. No of them foresee what will happen once their plan is brought public. Susan is the mother of Lily and the high school principal and faces scrutiny from the school board and the town. The focus becomes the pacts behavior and the fact that Susan was seventeen and pregnant when she started over in this town. Circumstances change when one of the girls in the pact outs Lily and then the other girls in the pact. What will Susan and Lily do?

I liked this book and would not have chosen to read this I if it had not been a book club selection. I look forward to reading another book by this author.
