The Book Of Tomorrow by Cecelia Ahern
Tamara and her mother move into the gate house in Kilsaney after the
death of her father which left them in debt prompting the move. The owners of
the gatehouse are Arthur and Rosaleen Kilsaney. Tamara’s first impressions of
Rosaleen are that she is strange. Rosaleen rules her house although Arthur can
win arguments given the circumstances. Rosaleen always has to know what Tamara
is doing or where she is going. This idea is not something that Tamara is used
to. One day when Rosaleen is out running an errand Tamara meets Marcus the
roving librarian. He invites her to look at books he has in his van. She finds
this really special book that has a lock on it.
Tamara figures out how to open the book and finds that it is a diary. So the next day Tamara tries to write in the diary. She finds the pages filled with her handwriting. The entries tell of events that will happen in the future. Tamara is then left with a decision does she try to follow the events of the diary or will she change them? Will she figure out what is really up with Rosaleen? Will Arthur believe what she has to say?
I won this book from a giveaway and loved the last Cecelia Ahern. I have mixed feelings about this book. I finally realized that maybe my feelings on this book came from the author who wanted us the readers to feel uneasy as we read this book. The story is told from Tamara’s point of view. I liked the book. I felt impatient waiting for the outcome. I did not enjoy this book as much as some of the her other books.
