Dewey Readathon begins with introductions:  My name is Jencey Gortney.   I am reading from Atlanta Georgia in the US.   I am reading and will be starting with two books  The Last of The Moon Girls by Barbara Davis and continuing with my audiobook Written In My Own Hearts Blood by Diana Gabaldon .   I am looking forward to finally reading a Barbara Davis book and not using an audiobook.   The snack that I am most looking forward to beginning with is my Cinnamon Starbucks coffee.  I will then proceed to the oatmeal bars that I made from scratch.  I just finished yesterday twelve hours of graduate school.  I am working on my master's in Library Science from the University of Alabama.  I work at a library in north Atlanta and I love books.  I am glad to be here to do because this is a great activity to do while in quarantine! :) This is not my first Dewey Readathon.  It has been a while since I part...

I read this novel during the Dewey Readathon, and it was an excellent choice the second book in the Hunger Games Series. Synopsis: Katniss and Peeta have survived the games, and have returned to District 12.   Katniss now has a home in Victor’s Village for her mother and her sister.     She has all the money she could ever need.   You would think that she would be happy, but she still prefers her old stomping grounds outside of the district.   Peeta is around and still wishes for more from Katniss.   Does she have it to give?   One day President Snow pays Katniss a visit threatening all that is sacred and important to her.    Can she pull off the ultimate deception convince the Public that she absolutely adores Peeta or will rebellion break out?   What are her true feelings? Which hour was most daunting for you?  I think the hours of 1-4 am. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?  I liked  The Hunger Game Series by Suzanne Collins. Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year? No not really. What do you think worked really well in this year’s Read-a-thon?  I liked that there were less technical glitches getting to the mini-challenges. How many books did you read?  I read one book and started another. What were the names of the books you read?  I finished Catching Fire and started Mockingjay. Which book did you enjoy most?  I  enjoyed Catching Fire. Which did you enjoy least? I am not that far into Mockingjay to make that decision. Which hour was most daunting for you?  I would say hour 16 to 17. Could you list a few high-interest books that you think could keep a Reader engaged for next year?  I would definitely recommend The Cougar Club by Susan McBride.    I would recommend the Daughters of Fortune series by Judith Pella.  I also would recommend The Yukon Quest series by Tracie Peterson.  There have been some additional series to follow.  Another author I would recommend is Alexandrea Weis and her Nicci Bellavoir series.  I found that  those books kept my interest.  Do you have any suggestions for how to improve the Read-a-thon next year?
