Gone Girl with a Twist

Thank you to Thomas Nelson for giving me a copy of Sister Dear in exchange for an honest review. I have followed Laura’s career as a writer from the beginning. Her books have always been enjoyable and have been great reads!  The story in Sister Dear is different from the past but in such a good way. Synopsis: Allie Marshall is getting her release from prison, and her freedom back.   Once she is out she can go about investigating who really committed the murder she went to prison for?  This crime has cost her ten years of her life.  Allie has no relationship with her daughter Caroline.  Her only visitor has been her sister Emma.  What happened?  Will Allie find the answers she is looking for and prove her innocence? Will Caroline be willing to give her mother another chance? My Thoughts: What a story!  I could not put it down.  Laura has such a way of crafting a story that makes you want to find out what will happen next.  She created a character in Allie Marshall

Joshilyn Jackson has come out with a new book this year.  I feel that it is a great addition the summer reading season. The book is The Opposite of Everyone.  It is an interesting tale if I do say so myself, of a mother daughter journey! Synopsis: Paula Vauss also known as Kali Jai is not your average child, and neither is her mother Kai. Mother and daughter spent most of their lives traveling together.  Kai would make up identities and back stories for both her and Paula with each location. Can all this change become too much for a child?  When we meet Paula Vauss in the future she is a powerful divorce attorney in Atlanta Georgia.  She regularly sends her mother Kai checks.  Each time she wonders will it make up for what happened years ago?  A phone call that changed their lives and separated mother and daughter.  This time the check is returned with a message on the back. Paula thinks nothing of it at the time and then someone new comes into her life. Julian has a powerful

What are you most judge-y about? Does being judge-y show you have discernment, standards and ideals, or does it illustrate elitism, insecurity, and a narrowness of mind?   Does being judge-y show you have discernment, standards and ideals, or does it illustrate elitism, insecurity, and a narrowness of mind? My father was in the rag trade; I’m judge-y about fabric. I don’t care if Rayon is currently resurgent. It is unwelcome in my wardrobe. I’ve never been able to order clothes from a catalog or website because I need to feel the weave, touch the fibers and see if the design is woven or printed. Don’t tell me I should eschew design for durability or renounce style for sustainability. And I’m most certainly not sleeping on sheets made from repurposed tires or recycled candy wrappers even if it’s good for the planet. I will help the planet in other ways, but I’m sleeping on high-thread count all-cotton sateen. If they want to take that away
