Cocktails for Three by Madeline Wickham


This is the story of three friends who work for the magazine The Londoner. They meet once a month for cocktails and to catch up in each other's lives. Meet Maggie the Editor of The Londoner. She is pregnant and getting ready for maternity leave to have her first child. She and her husband are getting ready to make the move to the countryside. Then there is Roxanne who is a free lance reporter for the Magazine. She travels to various hotels and writes reviews of their service. She also has a secret from both her friends of her lover is. Finally there is Candice a reporter for the magazine. She has a kind heart and desires to help each others. Candice is also suffering from the sins of her father. 
 


One night the friends get together for cocktails as usual but they meet a young woman by the name of Heather Trelaney. She is waiting there table when she runs into Candice. Heather and Candice share the past of their fathers working together. Candice feels guilty and wants to help but is advised by friends to leave it alone. Candice presses on to help Heather but little does she know where it will lead.
 
I liked this book. I am feeling slightly more encouraged to read more of Madeline Wickham's books.
