Do You Have Faith?

Mitch Albom shares a story about a man seeking faith while running from it.    The novel begins with a Rabbi that knew him growing up making a request:   “Will you do my eulogy?” How would you answer this question?   The author’s answer was to get to know the Rabbi.   The rest of the book chronicles their journey of what he learns while getting to know the Rabbi.   The author asks questions that we all would ask.   Is there a God?   Are you really a man or woman of faith?   Also what did he learn? My Thoughts: This book came as a recommendation to me from my father.     I didn’t know if I would like this author or not.   I had never really considered reading any of his novels in the past.     The author’s approach is very direct and straight forward.    The plotting of this story was interesting to me.   The author would discuss his meetings with the Rabbi and then share about Life of Henry.   He is a pastor that the author meets in a homeless ministry.   He never

What would you do if you were in your senior year of college and everything had been going as planned…Then suddenly your plans make a slight adjustment?   Kacey Barlow is in the middle of her senior year of college and everything is on track, until she is called to see her advisor where she learns the program she had been preparing for since freshmen year would not be available to her anymore.   What should Kacey do?  Should she tell her parents that she will be unable to go into their chosen profession?  Should she be honest with her friends?  Or should she go it alone and pretend that everything is fine?   Her friends think she has it made because her path into dental school is set.  Kacey sets about secretly achieving her goal. I found this book to be charming and tongue and cheek about the last year of college.  I applaud those who make an effort to continue on with their education.  I thought the author did a great job with character development.  Ms. Ganz did
