Mr. Darcy's Daughters by Elizabeth Aston

I have always loved Jane Austen. I was browsing the bookstore shelves one day and came across this book by Elizabeth Aston Mr. Darcy’s Daughters which is book one of a series. This novel starts where Pride and Prejudice ended but now Mr. Darcy is the one with the daughters.

Synopsis:

Elizabeth and Darcy leave for a trip to Constantinople Turkey. Their daughters are left in the care of two families the Fitzwilliams and the Gardiners. The daughters stay with the Fitzwilliams at their house but regularly go around London with the Gardiners. Two daughters are of age and ready for their turn in society. Fanny (Mrs. Fitzwilliam) is anxious to get the girls married off. She takes Letitia and Camilla out to the balls and visiting various houses in London. The younger daughters the twins Georgina and Belle and then their little sister Alethea are too young to venture in London. They must stay in the classroom. The Fitzwilliams and the Gardiners have their hands full with the girls and the various scandals that arise with some help from Lady Warren. She is known as Caroline Bingley fromPride and Prejudice. Will the girls rise above the scandal? Are there husbands to be found in London?

My Thoughts

I liked this book. I was surprised by how similar the dialect was to the Jane Austen novels. I feel the author may have intentionally written it that way. I think I would definitely consider reading more of the series.
