Castles by Julie Garwood
Julie
Garwood is one of my favorite authors. She is basically the only romance writer
I continue to read. She is one of my favorite authors because she writes with
irony and humor. I hope you will like her just as much. Castles is one of her
earlier works and part of the Crown Spies series.
Story:
Princess Alessandra has lived in a convent all of her life and was raised by nuns, after her parents died. One day she is called into see Mother Superior and is informed that she is being sent to England to live with her guardian for protection. Alessandra stays with the Duke of Williamshire but the whole household becomes sick after her arrival. Alessandra has business in London that can’t wait so the Duke of Williamshire sends her to stay with his younger son Colin. He secretly hopes Colin will marry Alessandra.
Colin wants nothing to do with Alessandra and found her story hard to believe that all of his family was sick. While she makes herself at home within Colin’s rented townhouse, he checked out her story. Colin corroborated her story, but he feels that doesn’t have time to waste on her. Alessandra tries to bring attention to her missing friend but Colin won’t listen. This mystery becomes important as the book moves on. Will Alessandra and Colin have a relationship or not?
I liked this book. I found it easy to read. I give the book a 3/5 hearts.
