A Thrilling Tale: The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson


The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson is the first book in the Millennium Series. The main characters are Mikael Blomkvist a journalist who is on trial for libel which is caused by a story that is falsified  on the Wenerstrom Group. He gets an assignment from Henrik Vanger to solve the mystery of what happened to his niece Harriett Vanger. While conducting his investigation Mikael enlists the help of Lisbeth Salander. She has had a rough life and has been declared a ward of the state but she is an excellent investigator. Together they work to solve the case of Harriett Vanger.  Will they be able to solve what happened to her?  Will Mikael get revenge on Wenerstrom group? 

My Thoughts:

This story is full of twists and turns that are unexpected to the reader. The book is easy to read but slow in areas. It also had a lot of difficult subject matter which might be hard for some readers to take. There are some tough topics such as sexual abuse and violence. 

Make sure to check out the USA version.  The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo is out on video.  Daniel Craig will play the role of Mikael Blomkvist.
