Going Barefoot with Elin Hilderbrand

Barefoot starts the beach reads for this summer.   This book is my first Elin Hilderbrand book.

Synopsis:

Barefoot is the story of three women who go onto vacation to Nantucket. The most interesting fact is these women don’t want to be there. Each one is dealing with life changing events in their lives. Vicki is the mother of two small children.   She comes to Nantucket to get treatment for her lung cancer. Brenda (Vicki’s sister) has just lost her job because of an affair she had with a student. Then there is Melanie (Vicki’s friend) who recently found out she is pregnant and needs to get away from her philandering husband. They hire a local to help them with the kids while Vicki has her chemo treatments. What choices will they make for the summer and the future?

My Thoughts:

Barefoot: A Novel
I really liked this book.  I liked the book and would read others by her.  I did feel that story was slow in spots.  I over all enjoyed the book.   The characters seemed to be life like.   A true vacation even if it didn’t the characters  away from their troubles.

Ratings:

3/5.
