The Oxford Chronicles Book 1 Review and Giveaway I met Melanie Jeschke a few years ago when I was in college.   I befriended her daughter in college where I met her mother.   At the time I didn’t know that Melanie wrote novels.   I recently saw her novels in a bookstore.     I asked her if she would mind sharing one of them with us.   Melanie has graciously given me a copy of Inklings to giveaway.   See details below for how to win a copy. Synopsis: Kate and Connie leave William and Mary to go to Oxford to study.   They are both excited for new adventures.   They settle into their studies and join the Inklings society which pays tribute to C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien.   The Leader of the Inklings is David McKenzie a local Don who studied under Lewis.   He and his friend Austen lead the Inklings at Oxford.    David is also a tutor for Kate in her studies at Oxford.    The two bond quickly and Davi...

“To Destroy You Is No Loss!

The novel In a Shadow of the Banyan by Vaddey Ratner was highly recommended by Simon & Schuster in their September newsletter.    I also had a connection to this novel from the past. Synopsis: Raami and her family begin their story in their home in Phnom Phenh.    They are a branch of the royal family.     There has been much war and conflict in Cambodia during the years of 1970-1975.    One day Raami’s father comes home and says the war has ended.    What started as optimism after the war’s end quickly changes when the Khmer Rouge comes to power.    Everyone is asked to exit the city because the Americans will bomb it.    There is no choice but to leave or die.   Raami and her family think this is a short term effect, but is it really?    Will the family be able to stay together? My Thoughts: This novel interested me because in high school I was part of a drama club ...

The final leg of the journey in the Zion series takes us to ancient Jerusalem.   Jerusalem Hope is the final book in the Zion Chronicles series:   Synopsis: Moshe is sent to study some scrolls in the ancient temple in Jerusalem.    The scroll contains a story about ancient Jerusalem during the reign of Rome.   Pontius Pilate is governor of the area and has sent Marcus the centurion   to oversee the water aqueduct that is being built for Jerusalem’s benefit.    The people in Jerusalem are against this aqueduct because of use of the Korban money (used to support the temple in Jerusalem).    Nakdamion is on the Sanhedrin council but was asked to research the claims of Yeshua and whether they are true or not?   He meets three orphans Emet, Avel, and H-or Tov who are sent to Zadok.    They have a special message for him.    Will the events that are about to occur keep them from giving Zadok the message? ...
