My Visit with Wendy Wax

Image
Wendy is here to share about her new book Ocean’s Beach.   The book is set in Miami on South Beach.   She prefers to write about women reinventing themselves and sometimes this involves writing about tough topics and in groups.   Wendy refreshed the group about Ten Beach Road characters and bringing them forward with the new book Ocean’s Beach.   In this book it is six months later and the women have been invited to be part of a reality television show for the Lifetime television network.    The goal is to renovate a star’s home in Miami.   We then started talking about the beginning of Wendy’s writing career which started in Romantic comedy.   There was a progression in her writing to detail more a women’s journey in life.    She said the best part of writing a sequel is she already knew the characters.    A book for Wendy usually takes about eight to nine months to write.    A woman in the group a...

My Visit with Claire Cook

Image
Recently I was able to sit down with Claire Cook and talk about her new book Wall Flower in In Bloom.   She was recently nominated by Galleycat (Popular Publishing Magazine) her work on Wall Flower’s In Bloom which is connected to Dancing with the Stars.  Synopsis: Claire then shared about the story behind Wall Flower in Bloom.  What if a celebrity’s assistant who is related suddenly decides she wants a change?  This assistant lives vicariously through her brother.   He is considered a golden boy in other words can do no wrong.    The assistant has a meltdown and considers walking away…  She copes with vodka and Ben and Jerrys.   Then she finds out Dancing with the Stars and writes and impassioned document pleading to be on Dancing with the Stars.   What would happen if a noncelebrity actually was to get on the show?   The show might think it is her brother actually applying.  Clair...

Oh So Much More with Meg Mitchell Moore

Image
Thank you to Book Sparks PR, Reagan Arthur Books, and Meg Mitchell Moore for the opportunity to review this book. Synopsis: Natalie is assigned a project by her teacher Mrs. Ramirez to do an independent project.   Her teacher has left it a mystery as to what the students should do for this project.    School has not been easy for her because of her former best friend Hannah cyber bullying.   Natalie makes a discovery of a notebook which leads her to Kathleen Lynch a widower who works at the Archives in Boston, and is a widower. They work together on Natalie’s special project.   Will their relationship grow?   Will Natalie be able to solve her bullying problem? My Thoughts: Meg Mitchell Moore writes with much passion and emotion.   I could definitely identify with her characters.    She kept my interest throughout the book.    I found her writing with relevant topics such as bullying, a child dealing with divorce, and feelin...

This book was the April book club book.    I had always wanted to read something by Elizabeth Noble.   The Reading Group was her debut. Synopsis: Nicole and Harriet decide to start a reading group in January.   Harriet is a not so happy house wife, but is she really as unhappy as she seems?   Nicole loves her husband and her family but does he love her?   Their group includes other members Claire, Mary, Susan, and Polly.     This story takes place through their lives and the book they read.   This book is set against the backdrop of London England.   What books will they read through the year? My Thoughts: I thought that I would be really excited about this book.    I didn’t find myself engrossed in this book.   I found it hard to love the characters.   I loved the setting of the book.     I hope that when I get a chance to read one of her other books I might like it better. I thought the re...
