Effie at the Wedding by Tracy Marchini

Tracy Marchini is visiting Writer’s Corner for the first time. She is a freelance writer who has started writing her own books.   Effie at the Wedding is her first stand alone fiction novel.  Synopsis:   Her character Effie likes to write lists and she chronicles he experience attending her sister’s wedding.  She faces several challenges during the wedding and the hang-ups of her family.    She does have a heart and cares deeply for her sister.     Will she survive her family at the wedding?     So here is my list: Three Reasons why you will like this book: 1.         Effie is full of humor. 2.        I hope you like lists. 3.        Great book for if you like to read about weddings. Beatriz Williams Shares the Joys of Family and Writing

Welcome Beatriz to Writer ’ s Corner.  I am excited to introduce everyone to your work.   Beatriz is a graduate of Stanford University with an MBA from Columbia. She is sharing her debut   Overseas .  Thank you for speaking with us today. What inspired you to write your first novel? I call it my mommy-age crisis -- it was either write or strangle myself with a pacifier cord! Seriously, I'd always wanted to write, and writing was always my gig, even in a business setting (as in, hey, let's let Beatriz handle that executive summary no one else will touch!). Then I found myself at home cleaning dog poop off my toddlers' shoes, and I really needed a creative outlet, a domain I could own for myself. Romancing Through Time with Beatriz Williams

I was privileged to obtain a copy of this book from Putnam Group which is an imprint of Penguin Group.   Thank you Lydia Hirt and Beatriz Williams, for the opportunity to review this book. Synopsis: Kate Wilson and Julian Laurence Ashford have known each other for a long time.   They met in 1916 during the First World War.    Julian was fighting for England at this time.   Kate had traveled to him with a message from the future.    Move to 2007 and Wall Street New York where Kate is working as an investment banker and Julian has a hedge fund firm  Southfield.   They meet briefly and Julian knows that he has found his missing Kate.   Will he convince Kate that he is the love of her life? My Thoughts: I enjoyed this story from Beatriz Williams.   I felt that she told a timeless story of star crossed lovers.    I thought the plot was very interesting because it kept you guessing as to what would happen ...
