Feature Eagle Eye Bookstore: A Great Place To Visit!
I
love coming to Eagle Eye Bookshop. I am always excited by the customer service
I have received here and other things it has to offer. I have been to many
other trade book shops in Tennessee, Virginia, Missouri, and Georgia. None of
them offer what Eagle Eye seems to offer to the public right here in Decatur
Georgia.
Eagle eye bookshop is located in the outskirts of Decatur Georgia off North Decatur Road. They sell new stock as well as older stock. You are welcome in to trade your books. You get the best customer service around. You can often find them at any major event in the area. “Selected Best Independent Bookstore in Atlanta by Atlanta Magazine and Creative Loafing." I am sitting down with the owner Charles Robinson. The store is also owned by Doug Robinson.

How long have you been in business in the Atlanta area?
We've been here for over 8 and a half
years.
How did you get involved with local
author events?
We were involved with promoting local
authors from the beginning. Some of the local authors we promote are some of
our best customers. We've had the pleasure of getting to know many nationally
recognized authors such as Kathryn Stockett in the the process.
Book clubs?
We've had many book clubs that use our
reading room space in the back of the store. We don't currently have book club
meetings but if your club would like to meet in our store, please call or come
by!
Georgia Romance Writers Association?
One of our former employees had worked
with their organization and they needed a good, reliable bookseller once a
month. We've enjoyed a fine relationship with the GRW and have supplied them
with several authors who fit in perfectly.
Not many bookstores carry trade also
have the option of carrying newer stock. What led you to invest in carrying new
stock and not just be a regular trade bookstore?
It was mostly a case of customer demand
and relevancy. If you're not selling new books then you're not really staying
current on what's happening in the book industry. Also, authors do their book
tours to promote the latest book they've written and if you're not selling new
books then there's no way to provide a wonderful event for our customers.
If
you could share one thing about Eagle Eye you would most like people to know
about you what would that be?
Independent
bookstores, such as ourselves, are community gathering places as much as they
are stores. By shopping local, you keep a large percentage of your money in your
community and allow businesses like us to promote and grow with you.
