Toni Aleo Shares Every Womens' Dream

Toni is visiting us via Chick Lit Plus Blog Tours for her latest book Taking Shots.  So here is Toni to tell you a little about herself.

My name is Toni Aleo!
I am a wife, mother, and hopeless romantic.
I have been told I have anger issues, but I think it’s cause of my intense love for hockey!
I am the biggest Shea Weber fan ever, and can be found during hockey season with my nose pressed against the Bridgestone Arena’s glass, watching my Nashville Predators play!
When my nose isn’t pressed against the glass, I enjoy going to my husband and son’s hockey games, my daughters dance competition, hanging with my best friends, taking pictures, and reading the latest romance novel.
I love things that sparkle, I love the color pink, and did I mention I love hockey?
I hope to hear from you on here, my Facebook, or my twitter! Thank you so much!

Synopsis of Taking Shots:

Eleanor Fisher (Elli) is excited about her photo shoot with the Assassins the Nashville  Hockey team, which is owned by her uncle Brian Fisher.  Elli while shooting the Assassins and listens to her best friend Harper’s running commentary on each player.  Elli has then has a special moment with Shea Adler as he is ready to take his shot and is surprised when Shea asks her out.  Elli has been a fan for a long time and can’t fathom a reason that Shea would pay attention to her.  Will Elli be able to see herself in a relationship with Shea? Or will she let circumstances come between them?

My Thoughts:

I liked the story of Elli and Shea.  What women wouldn’t dream of falling in love with their sports hero?  This type of romance is not often told or I haven’t read it.  I thought the characters were well thought out.  Shea turns out to be the kind of man that any woman would pick.  My only criticism is that there was  a little too much spice in the story which made the story longer than need be.

Eleanor Fisher has a condition in this book that I really I identify with.  She has hypothyroidism.   I was also diagnosed with this condition.  You don’t see something like this issue discussed a lot in literature.  I often describe this condition as being similar to diabetes.  The only difference is that one who struggles with this has to check their blood periodically instead of daily.  It is also a struggle with weight to keep it off.  The Thyroid hormone  can affect how well your metabolism works therefore affects the possibility of gaining or losing weight.   It is very helpful to have a supportive group of friends who can be supportive when living with this condition.
