Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus came very highly recommended.   I am excited and eager to share their latest work. My Thoughts: Whew!   What a book!   I finished the book yesterday and still have thoughts about the characters and their actions.    I don’t know that I saw much of the humor.   I did feel for Kelsey and her situation.   I felt Logan’s f...

Shopaholic Take 2

Image
The beach read for July is Shopaholic Takes Manhattan by Sophie Kinsella.   Synopsis: Rebecca is now a television personality on Morning Coffee.   She has managed to befriend Mr. Smeath but he has news of his own.    He will no longer be in charge of her account at Endwich Bank.     Of course there is shopping!   Rebecca really wants to see her relationship grow with Luke.    He stays busy with work and Rebecca lets him set the pace of the relationship.   The game changer comes when Luke asks Rebecca to move to New York with him.   Will Rebecca be able to survive New York!   Will Saks Fifth Avenue survive the Shopaholic?   Will Luke become more committed? My Thoughts: I did not love this book.     Ms. Kinsella does a wonderful job of creating a superficial and narcissistic character in Rebecca Bloomwood.     I felt that the story was a little bit better this time around.   I...

Tracey Bateman welcomes you to Oregon   Country in the Oregon Brides stories. Synopsis: Star has a secret about her past life that she wants to keep hidden.     Her mother working in the Salon.   She runs away and straight into the arms of Michael Riley.   The story is not that simple because Michael has dealt with a past that involves the saloons as well.   Will he forgive and be able to move forward? Hope feels that all her problems will be solved if she can move her family out west. Now how to get around that small detail of no husband?   Could Andy Riley be the key? Eva feels the world at her feet and possesses a wild spirit just like her pa.   No man has been able to tame her yet.   Will Jonesy succeed where others have failed?   My Thoughts: I am a fan of Tracey Bateman’s writing.   I actually liked Oregon Brides better than the California Chances.    I found each story interesting.  ...
