Have You Heard of The Alice Network?
Thank
you to Harper Collins for a copy of The Alice Network. I was given this book in
exchange for an honest review. I received no financial compensation for this
review.
When
I first picked up a copy of this book the title interested me. What is the
Alice Network? Then when I learned that it was a spy ring during World War I, I
became intrigued. Could a spy ring that was made up of women succeed at all?
Synopsis:
Charlie
has a problem her mother brought her to Europe to take care of it. Charlie has
another agenda to find her cousin Rose. Her family has already investigated, but
was unable to find anything. Charlie has a name of someone who can help. Eve
Gardiner worked in the government of Great Britain during both World Wars. Eve
had a very specific job that coincides with Charlie’s search. Once Eve is
compelled to help, Charlie and Finn (Eve’s employee) leave for France. Eve
might obtain closure after all these years with what happened during World War
I. Will Eve find out the truth about what happened to The Alice Network? Will
Charlie be able to find her cousin?
My
Thoughts:
I
loved this story! It was easy to read. Kate Quinn creates characters that you
care about, and want to know more. You want to see them succeed. I loved Eve’s
story surrounding the Alice Network. I love reading war stories that I can
connect with as a reader. Charlie’s story did not interest me as much. The book
is a little long but worth your time. There is information included about the
actual people of The Alice Network during World War I, included in the back of
the book.
