Love Is In The Air by Rosa Temple

For me, the month of February is synonymous with St Valentine's Day and everything that goes with love and romance. It's true that as soon as we get to this most romantic month of the year, shop windows fill with hearts and flowers, boxes of chocolate assume sparkly new packaging, cupids arrows are pointing at you from every angle and the radio will remind you, constantly, that love is in the air.
I think it's a great time of year but I've been married for eighteen years. So is the whole idea of getting slushy and lovey-dovey a waste of time after so many years? Is St Valentine's Day for those who have just fallen in love?
If you, like me, are in the camp that says that St Valentine's Day is for everyone with a sense of romance, no matter how long you've been with your partner, then go ahead and take a seat; you've probably got this wrapped up and you're all set for some dancing and romancing on the 14th. If, on the other hand, you're in a relationship and avoiding St Valentine's Day like the plague, then you probably need a few pointers to super charge your relationship.
Here are my top 3 tips to bring romance back into your life:
·       Send a text, email or letter to your partner, reminding them of that special moment you both knew you were in love. This one is guaranteed to get you at least a romantic text in return and, at best, a bunch of flowers when your lover comes home from work.
·       Spend a week telling your lover every time they do something thoughtful, how much you appreciate it and don't take anything for granted. Hopefully they will return the gesture with compliments and you can recapture those romantic feelings that may have been forgotten.
·       When was the last time you said: I love you? Turn around and say it right now – add in a hug and you've got the recipe for falling in love all over again and possibly dinner for two.

But I know there are some of you reading this who aren't in a relationship or are waiting for love to happen. For you I say, don't give up because it can happen when you least expect it and might even happen when you don't want it to.
You might say, who doesn't want to fall in love? But there are some of us who don't. Take my heroine from Natalie's Getting Married, Natalie Spencer. She was all set to embark on a career in media and thought her friends were crazy because they were always chasing after 'the one'.
She fell in love (well I think it was infatuation first) and once that happened, there was no stopping her. Judging by the title of the book, you'll know that falling in love for Natalie led her up the aisle. The only problem is that falling in love once wasn't enough for Natalie – she kept on falling … until she got it right. She experiences the ups and downs of love but, because of the person she is, I could truly imagine her never getting tired of injecting romance into a long term relationship.
So, this is a message for those who have been with their partner a long time – do anything you can to re-kindle that flame. And for those of you still waiting for the sparks – don't give up, this might be your month. Love is in the air after all.

Natalie's Getting Married is released on 14th March and is available for pre-order now.

There will be a Giveaway, too, so make a diary note to swing by my blog on 7th March :
