Catching Air into a Great Experience!



Thank you to Atria Books and  Netgalley for sending me a copy of Catching Air by Sarah Pekkanen.  Now what is Catching Air?  It is defined as something that happens during  a snow boarding run.

Synopsis:

Alyssa and Rand are excited to be opening a Bed and Breakfast in Killington Vermont.  It is the first time they will put down roots and they have invited Rand’s brother  Peter and his wife  Kira to assist.  The family has had a checkered past but can they come together to run a business?  Life starts to come together in Vermont  when a stranger enters their lives.  Dawn has left her former life and is only looking for a break from being on the run.  Through various experiences she decides to stay and help, but for how long? 

My Thoughts:

I always look forward to Sarah’s next novel.  This one will not disappoint!  The story keeps moving throughout  the pages.  Once again Sarah takes us away but this time to Vermont.  The Bed and Breakfast was great setting for how this novel unfolds.  It is more background detail because of how strong the characters are.   These characters make you want to know what will happen next.    The only thing I didn’t enjoy much was a little predictability.  The Sarah did a great job of playing the characters off of one another.   I also really felt for some of the character’s circumstances.

She leaves you with a question.  Is what you want more important the relationship?  She answers this question in various ways with each character.  Can one’s desire outweigh what is best in the situation?

One of the best I have ever read by Sarah Pekkanen.
