We are
reading When Doubt Add Butter as the
book club book of the month over at Chick Lit and Other Fiction. This is Beth’s latest work which of course
focuses on food.
Synopsis:
Gemma has
been serving up delicious dishes five days a week to her clients, and then
doing some catering on the weekends.
She has some interesting clients such as the Van Houghtens, the
mysterious Mr. Tuesday, Lex the department store owner, and Willa. Gemma serves up the meals in the midst of
challenging demands of her clients. An
interesting mishap with one of her clients leads to challenges for Gemma to maintain
her business. She shares all her trials
with her cousin Penny who is expecting her latest child any minute. Will Gemma be able to meet the demands of her
clients? Will she find out who Mr.
Tuesday really is?
My Thoughts:
I have read
one other book by Beth Harbison and I have to say that I really liked When in Doubt Add Butter. I found the topic of the baking and or
cooking for her clients really interesting.
There was also always hope for Gemma’s situation also you never who you
might meet. Great story with a mix of
mystery and humor. I look forward to
reading my next Beth Harbison book.
Since
cooking is the focus of this book what is your favorite recipe? We are sharing our favorite recipes over on
