If You Have Been Missing Downton Abbey!

Thank you to William Morrow for a copy of THE GIRL IN THE CASTLE by Santa Montefiore.  I was given this copy in exchange for an honest review.
Santa Montefiore is an international best-selling author of many novels.  If you are missing Downton Abbey then I think this novel is the ticket to what you have been missing! A great story that will have you turning the pages to the end.
Synopsis:
Kitty is the youngest child of Lord and Lady Deverill.   Her mother Lady Deverill. has no interest in her youngest daughter.   Kitty is left in the custody of her governess who she escapes as soon as she can.  She goes to play with her friends Jack and Bridie.   As the years go by Kitty, Jack, and Bridie go their separate ways.   Bridie ends up in the States.  Jack and Kitty fight for independence of Ireland.  What will fighting for Ireland cost both Kitty and Jack? How does America change Bridie?  How will Kitty move forward without him?
My Thoughts:
I loved this novel!  It is my first novel by Santa Montefiore.   I would be interested in reading more from this author in the future. .   Kitty Deverill is an awesome character!  She is independent, smart, and sassy.  The author has an upstairs downstairs feel to her story just like Downton Abbey. The Deverills are nothing like the Crawleys.   There are times when I wished that Kitty’s mother was Lady Crawley.   I feel that Kitty might have turned out differently.
The setting is Ireland.  The area is full of history which adds greatly to the story. The story uses the history of the area and great character development.
