Author's In Bloom Giveaway!

Welcome to the fifth annual Author’s In Bloom Giveaway.  The grand prize will be an ereader of your choice.  There are also prizes for runners up.  Then there are prizes at Writer’s Corner.  Don’t forget to visit all of the sites to get your entries in.    I also have prizes here.

First I will share my recipe and then stay tuned for the prizes.  Please enter at the rafflecopter below.

My recipe is Blondies.  What are blondies?  Some  restaurants serve it on their dessert menu.  They essentially are chocolate chip cookies in brownie form.

1cup butter

3/4 cup sugar ( or splenda if you want to decrease calories)

3/4 cup brown sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 eggs

2 1/4 cup all purpose flour ( I recommend rice flour or cup for cup if you are gluten free.)

1 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 cups Hershey's Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips

1 cup chopped nuts (optional)

Heat oven to 375.    In large mixer bowl  cream butter, sugar, brown sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.  Add eggs; beat well.  Combine flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to creamed mixture.  Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if desired.  Spread batter in greased jelly-roll pan, I usually use a 13x9 inch pan.   Bake at 375 for 20 minutes.  This can vary if you substitute certain ingredients.   Cool completely.  Cut into bars.

Now here are the prizes from Writer's Corner:
