Mary Kay Andrew's Christmas Tips and Giveaway

Thank you to Macmillan and Tandem Literary for sending me a copy of Christmas Bliss.  I have a copy to giveaway and recipes from Mary Kay Andrews
herself.

Weezie Foley is very busy preparing for her upcoming nuptials to Daniel Stipanek.  While trying to tie down last minute details she finds a surprising picture of her fiancĂ©e.  BeBe encourages her to go to New York and make sure he is okay.   She leaves her mother, Cookie, and his partner in charge of wedding preparation.  BeBe has her own problems. She is still married!  BeBe is eight months pregnant and could her ex be considered the father?  Will Weezie’s wedding go off without a hitch?

Mary Kay sat down to with me to answer a few questions about Christmas and BeBe and Weezy.  She will also discuss her new release of Christmas Bliss by Mary Kay Andrews.

First, for those who don't know the back story of Bebe and Weezy, what is most important for the readers to know?

BeBe and Weezie are best friends who always have each other's backs--they live in Savannah, Georgia, where Weezie is an antique dealer and BeBe runs a small inn on nearby Tybee Island, and though they've had their share of marital woes, both of them are finally in a good place now.

Will we see more from both Bebe and Weezy in the future?

I'm never sure where my stories will go in the future, but I wouldn't rule out a return appearance from these two.

Are the recipes shared from your personal cookbook? Or something you wanted to share with your readers?

All the recipes I share with my fans are ones I've used and loved. My family and I love to cook--and eat!

What are some of your favorite memories of Christmas with your family?

Holidays are especially fun now with our two young grandchildren, but I remember one Christmas in Atlanta when it actually snowed the day after Christmas! The kids had such fun sledding and having snowball wars with the neighbors, and then coming in for hot chocolate and chili. Our neighbor had an antique sled that seated three--but it got a little banged around when they hit a tree with it--the sled, that is, not the kids.

Would you like to win this book and the recipes!  Please leave your e-mail.  This giveaway is open to US residents only.  This giveaway will run from November 2-9.  Please follow on Facebook or on GFC.    Extra entries for tweets and shares.

What Would You Decide?

Being Elizabeth is the final chapter in the Ravenscar Dynasty series by Barbara Taylor
Bradford.  The final chapter chronicles the life of Elizabeth (Tudor) Turner.

Synopsis:

Elizabeth Turner will finally inherit the Managing Director of Deravenels.  Her sister Mary has passed after her bout with cancer.  She is advised by Cecil Williams and Robert Dunly.  Their goal is to turn around Deravenels after Mary’s death.  Elizabeth is adamant that she won’t marry but will that keep her from future happiness?   Her cousin Marie Stuart also wants the Managing Director position will she find the power necessary to overtake Elizabeth?

My Thoughts:

I looked forward to reading this novel because Barbara Taylor Bradford is one of my favorite authors.  I was not impressed with this novel.  I wonder if the title came from the fact that they had no idea what to otherwise call the novel.  Another title could be Elizabeth’s Decisions.

What was Queen Elizabeth really like?  Did her life truly involve her decisions and the men involved in it?  I wonder if anything more exciting happened?
Unfortunately I can’t really offer any more insight than the above.

New Place, a New Start with Joann Ross

The final Read for Pink novel we are covering for the month of October is Sea Glass
Winter by Joann Ross.  I have a new town to share with you Shelter Bay.

Synopsis:

Claire and Matt move from Beverly Hills California to Shelter Bay Oregon.  They are hoping for a new start.  Dillon is leaving the army to teach high school physics at Shelter Bay High and he will be the Basketball Coach.  Dillon visits one of the local restaurants one morning and hears about the phenom who is coming to Shelter Bay High school.  Matt will  on his own turn this team around.  Dillon looks forward to meeting him but keeping his expectations low due to his shady past.  His mother assures him that all of it is behind Matt.  Will Dillon believe that?  Does he find something else to keep his interest besides her son?

My Thoughts:

Joann Ross is a new author to me.  I found this novel enjoyable and interesting!  There is apparently a whole series of Shelter Bay novels.  The author created a fictional town to set her characters in Shelter Bay.   I have found this formula for a plot entertaining and am delighted to see how far it goes.  The only part that I didn’t enjoy is the other characters that seemed to have mini stories within the main story.  I wanted to hear about them but I thought it distracted from the main story.
